What is High-performance 433MHz Yagi Antenna?
The High-performance 433MHz Yagi Antenna style CTRF-ANTENNA-YAGI-0433-6839-SMA antenna item is a 433 MHz 6-element directional antenna 433 Antenna SMA Yagi-Uda antenna manufactured by C&T RF Antennas Inc for outdoor wireless network applications.
How to DIY a 433 Yagi antenna?
Convenient homemade low-cost 433 Yagi antenna
The mathematics of the Yagi antenna is complicated (I feel dizzy when I encounter mathematical derivation), but many engineering or theory books give its dimensions, as long as you follow this data, you can make a good YAGI!
If you want to make a 5-element Yagi antenna, if you make a four-unit Yagi antenna, just don’t install the pilot D, and the antenna will look smaller.
If you want to make a 7-element, add two pilot elements to the five-element, the length is 84% and 82% of the half wavelength respectively. The spacing of the newly added unit is still 0.2 times the wavelength.
The 70CM band Yagi antenna I made was initially a four-cell one, with individual oscillators and their connected metal rods, made of copper welding rod (2.5mm diameter) provided by BG4RUV.
About a month later, I bought a 2m long, 4mm diameter copper bar, and made a detachable 4-element Yagi antenna (found a rectangular steel pipe as the connecting rod for each element, each element is connected to the supporting rod with screws.
Each element is fixed with screws and stubs, easy to carry). The resonance point of the first antenna was about 2 MHz lower than the expected center frequency (435 MHz), but the SWR within 430 to 440 MHz was not high, with the lowest SWR ≤ 1.1 and the highest SWR not greater than 1.4.
Later, I made some changes to the detachable antenna and used the remaining material to make three more leads, so that my antenna can be assembled into both a 4-element Yagi antenna and a 7-element Yagi antenna.
If you want to make a Yagi antenna but do not require strong directionality, you can try to make a 3-element Yagi antenna.
