What is a High-performance 868/915 MHz 10 dBi Lora Antenna?
The High-performance 868/915 MHz High Gain 10 dBi Lora Antenna External Antenna CTRF-ANTENNA-FB-8593-20800-NK is a high gain Lora Antenna 10dBi outdoor antenna for LoRa Gateway 868Mhz 915MHz antenna omnidirectional fiberglass antenna manufactured by C&T RF Antennas Inc for outdoor applications.
LoRa Smart Parking application
LoRa wireless geomagnetism is installed on the parking space, the geomagnetism automatically transmits LoRa gateway according to the magnetic field change data on the parking space, the gateway then transmits to the cloud platform server, and the cloud platform server feeds the data information to the third-party application platform for display, improving the information and intelligent management level of the car park.
LoRa gateway: receives data from the geomagnetic field and forwards it to the cloud platform, which can be connected to the cloud platform via Ethernet, GPRS, and 3G/4G networks.
Geomagnetic: can dynamically track changes in environmental parameters to accurately determine the status information of car parking spaces. The geomagnetic unit acts as a front-end monitor and transmits the collected data to the LoRa gateway via wireless.
Cloud platform: collects the geomagnetic detection information from the front-end devices transmitted through the gateway and transmits the information to the management center server for analysis and processing.
The Cloud Platform server also provides historical event data recording, data encryption and decryption, packet error correction, and data backup storage services, and acts as middleware for remote data interfacing with third-party application platforms over the Internet or local area networks via standard communication protocols.
Communication distances for NB-IoT, LORA
NB-IoT communication distance
The signal coverage of mobile networks depends on the density of base stations and the link budget. nB-IoT has a link budget of 164dB, GPRS has a link budget of 144dB, and LTE is 142.7 dB.
Compared to GPRS and LTE, NB-IoT has a 20dB increase in link budget and can increase signal coverage in open environments by a factor of seven. 20dB corresponds to the loss of signal penetration through the exterior of a building, making NB-IoT signal coverage in indoor environments relatively good. In general, the communication distance of NB-IoT is 15km.
LoRa communication distance
LoRa offers a maximum link budget of 168dB with its unique and patented technology. Typically, the wireless range is 1-2km in cities and up to 20km in suburban areas.
NB-IoT, LoRa cost comparison
LPWAN protocols, no matter how powerful, need to be considered for their low cost, otherwise, they are not considered viable IoT solutions. Lora has an advantage in this regard. the overall cost of a LoRaWAN module is around $8-10, about half the price of a cellular LTE module such as NB-IoT.
The higher the complexity of the NB-IoT network, the higher the IP-related (in terms of licensed bands) costs, raising the total cost of NB-IoT. upgrading to advanced 4G/LTE base stations for NB-IoT is more expensive than LoRa deployment via industrial gateways or tower top gateways. As the market becomes more mature, the cost of LoRa technology is expected to fall further.
