What are the features of ADS-B?

ADS-B has the characteristics of A (Automatic), D (Dependent), and B (Broadcasting).

A (Automatic) indicates that the broadcast of aircraft information is done automatically by the relevant equipment, without the intervention of the flight crew;

D (Dependent) indicates that all aircraft need to participate in the broadcasting of their respective information to achieve the awareness of airspace conditions among aircraft and ground-based ATC agencies and that the information sent relies on the data passed by the on-board equipment;

B (broadcast) indicates that the information sent by the aircraft is not only transmitted point-to-point to ATC surveillance but is broadcast externally so that it can be received by all units in the communication airspace.
