What is a 3-8GHz Antenna UWB Omnidirectional Antenna?
The 3-8GHz Antenna UWB Omnidirectional Antenna CTRF-ANTENNA-NM-300800-20260-FB is a 6/8 dBi, high-gain, ultra-wideband antenna with 3 GHz to 8 GHz antenna Omni fiberglass antenna manufactured by C&T RF Antennas Inc for outdoor applications.
What makes UWB devices and antennas designed from a different perspective?
Ultra Wideband (UWB) is a special technology for high-speed, low-power, short-range wireless communications and positioning. It differs from many other technologies by propagating signals over a large amount of the radio spectrum (split in a 500 MHz channel).
For antenna design, obtaining this antenna bandwidth is clearly the main challenge. For positioning applications, directional and omnidirectional antennas are required, depending on the installation.
UWB (Ultra WidBand) is a short-range wireless communication method. Its transmission distance is usually within 10m and using a bandwidth of 1GHz or more, communication speed can reach several hundred Mbits or more.
UWB does not use a carrier wave but uses nanosecond to microsecond non-sinusoidal narrow pulses to transmit data, so it occupies a wide range of spectrum and is suitable for high-speed, close-range wireless personal communications.
FCC regulations, the UWB operating band ranges from 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz, with a minimum operating bandwidth of 500MHz. ultra-wideband transmission technology and the traditional narrowband, broadband transmission technology, the difference between the following two main aspects.
One is the transmission bandwidth, the other is the use of the carrier mode is not used. From the transmission bandwidth, according to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission FCC definition: signal bandwidth greater than 1.5GHz or signal bandwidth and the ratio of the center frequency is greater than 25% for ultra-wideband.
Ultra-wideband transmission technology uses direct baseband transmission. Its transmission method is to send pulsed radio signals directly, which can send billions of pulses per second.
However, the frequency domain of these pulses is very wide, covering several Hz to several GHz. because UWB transmits a relatively small carrier power and a wide frequency range.
Therefore, UWB is equivalent to noise compared to conventional radio waves and has a fairly small impact on conventional radio waves.
The technical characteristics of UWB show that it has incomparable advantages over traditional narrowband and broadband technologies.
