What is a 433 MHz?
433MHz is a dedicated frequency band for radio.
433MHz technology uses the 433mhz wireless band, so the significant advantage of 433mhz over WiFi and Zigbee is that the wireless signal is more penetrating and can travel further.
However, the disadvantage is that the data rate is only 9600bps, which is much lower than WiFi and Zigbee, so 433MHz technology is generally only suitable for applications with low data transmission volumes.
The normal mode of operation of 433MHz technology is to establish a wireless link only at the moment when data is being sent and received, thus greatly reducing interference with other devices in the network and also reducing the power consumption of the device itself.
Of course, Zigbee and 433MHz technologies can also be designed from an application layer perspective to be similar to an ‘always-on’ mode by setting a reasonable ‘refresh interval’ parameter to achieve a compromise between functionality, power consumption, and reliability.
