As a wide-area IoT technology with long-range, low power consumption, and low operation and maintenance costs, Lora has been widely used, and its main application is short and medium-range communication of IoT nodes.

A complete Lora-based IoT system includes Lora network nodes, Lora antennas, Lora gateways, MQTT servers, HTTP application servers, databases and clients, and other basic components, each with different placement and roles.

For example, in a Lora real-time monitoring system, the network nodes are mainly located in the detection area where the information is to be obtained and transmit the information obtained by the sensors outwards via the node antennas.

The antenna transceiver system and the Lora gateway are distributed on the base towers near the nodes. The Lora antenna gets the data reported by the nodes and transmits it to the Lora gateway, which then transmits the data to the ranger station via optical fiber and then to the Internet.

The MQTT server, HTTP application server, and database are all deployed on the cloud side of the internet, mainly receiving, processing, and storing the forest environment information reported by the nodes;

Finally, the client needs to be able to access the internet and view the information stored in the database in real time.

The Lora-based IoT system involves many links in data transmission, and each link needs to carry a lot of parameter information, for example, nodes and gateways need to carry LoraWan classes mode information, and gateways and MQTT servers need to carry gateway identification codes, etc.
