What is a High-Gain 5dBi Antenna NB LTE Flexible PCB Antenna?

The High-Gain 5dBi Antenna NB LTE Flexible PCB Antenna CTRF-ANTENNA-FPC-7027-6515-IPEX antenna item is a dipole antenna designed flexible antenna manufactured by C&T RF Antennas Inc for the NB-IoT Cellular IoT applications.

The High-Gain 5dBi Antenna NB LTE Flexible PCB Antenna has a 4/6dBi high-gain LTE antenna, a 65x15mm flexible printed circuit board size internal antenna with an Ipex/u.FL connector antenna for Cellular-IoT network applications.

NB LTE relationship

Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), also known as LTE Cat NB1 is also a Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technology that allows various devices to be connected to the Internet using existing mobile networks.

Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) has been developed to support applications that enable the Internet of Things (IoT). It is a low-power, narrowband technology that can handle small amounts of bi-directional data transmission in an efficient, secure, and reliable manner.

NB-IoT is one of the more popular LPWA technologies that can be used in Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
It offers the right combination of features. Low-frequency narrowband signal spotting has long-range propagation characteristics that can penetrate walls and metal conduits.

The power requirements are low enough to allow a device powered by a single battery to have a lifetime of more than 10 years.

Its data rate is just right for Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as meter reading, controlling street lights, parking space monitoring, industrial data monitoring, and some other low data rate applications.

What is LTE Cat M1 and how is it different from NB-IoT?

LTE Cat M1 is a new low-power wide area (LPWA, low-power wide-area) cellular technology specifically designed for Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications.

It has been developed to support low to medium data rate applications with upload/download data rates below 1 Mbps and can be used in half or full duplex mode.

LTE CAT M1 operates using existing LTE networks, but unlike NB-IoT, which operates using unused spectrum or spectrum located in a protected band, LTE CAT M1 operates in the same LTE bands as used in cellular applications.

One of its advantages is that it has the ability to switch from one cell site to another, which makes it possible to use the technology in mobile applications.

NB-IoT, on the other hand, does not allow mobile switching from one cell site to another, so it can only be used in fixed applications, i.e., applications limited to the area covered by a single cell site.

Since LTE Cat M1 technology can coexist with 2G, 3G, and 4G mobile networks, it has all the benefits of security and privacy features of mobile networks, such as support for user identity confidentiality, physical authentication, confidentiality, data integrity, and authentication of mobile devices.
