RFID system components of a complete RFID system, are composed of a reader and electronic tags are also known as the transponder, and an application software system of three parts, its working principle is for the Reader to transmit a specific frequency of radio wave energy to the transponder, to drive transponder circuit to send out the internal data, the Reader will then receive and interpret the data in sequence, and send it to the application to do the corresponding processing.
Classification of RFID tags
RFID tags are classified into three categories: passive, semi-passive (also called semi-active), and active.
A passive tag does not have an internal power supply. Its internal integrated circuit is driven by the received electromagnetic waves that are RFID reader emits.
When the tag receives a signal of sufficient strength, it can send data to the reader. This data includes not only the ID number (globally unique The data can include not only the ID number (Global ID) but also the data pre-existing in the tag’s EEPROM.
In semi-active tags in general, the passive tag antenna has two tasks:
First: to receive the electromagnetic waves sent by the reader, in order to drive the tag IC;
Second: the tag back to the signal, the need to rely on the impedance of the antenna for switching, in order to produce 0 and 1 change.
Active and passive and semi-passive type is different, the active tag itself has an internal power supply, to supply the internal IC power required to generate external signals. Generally speaking, active tags have a longer reading distance and a larger memory capacity to store additional information transmitted by the reader.
