What is a 4G NB-IoT Cellular Outdoor Dome Antenna?
The 4G NB-IoT Cellular Outdoor Dome Antenna CTRF-ANTENNA-EX-7027-5049-SMA comes with a 50x49mm plastic ABS antenna radome with waterproof functional, 1-meter RG 174 cable antenna extender with an SMA connector directory mount to the IoT M2M terminal for a 2G 3G 4G LTE GSM NB-IoT cellular network.
The 4G NB-IoT Cellular LTE-M Outdoor 4G Antenna Dome Antenna is a through-hole mount antenna with an IP67 waterproof grade function, it is suitable for outdoor devices such as DTU, cabinets, etc.
4G LTE-M and NB-IoT Technology
4G LTE-M and NB-IoT both belong to the category of M2M communication, also known as MTC (Machine Type Communication). And both are specifically designed and optimized for IoT devices that transmit small amounts of data over long periods of time. Both have specific application scenarios.
To ensure similar compatibility between LTE-M and NB-IoT, 3GPP is studying mechanisms to allow both NB-IoT and LTE-M to connect to the 5G core network.
This will enable 5G systems to support LTE, NR, NB-IoT, and LTE-M using the same core network.
Both NB-IoT and LTE-M are two LPWAN technologies developed for IoT applications, both protocols for low-bandwidth cellular communications designed for IoT devices that need to transmit small amounts of data with lower cost and longer battery life.
It is worth noting that both NB-IoT and LTE-M are 4G technologies, and were originally designed to ensure that they could operate in-band within LTE systems and share the LTE spectrum, as is the case for 5GNR.
The future will enable NB-IoT and LTE-M to operate in-band or coexist in 5G. This provides NB-IoT and LTE-M with forward compatibility to 5G.

What is the cellular band?
Traditionally, Europe uses the 900 MHz band while North America uses the 800 MHz bands. Most Asian countries use both bands.
The main analog standard for the 900MHz allocated frequency in Europe is the Full Access Communication System, although some European countries use other standards GSM is a digital system in the 900MHz band that has been adopted as a common standard in Europe and used in many other countries around the world, providing a very useful roaming device.
In addition, the GSM standard has been used for 1800 MHz (DCS 1800). Some countries are setting up independent 1800 MHz networks while others are trying to increase their GSM capacity with this band.
Because the same protocol is used on both bands, it is becoming more common to use the terms GSM-900 and GSM-1800 instead of GSM and DCS 1800.
